Without further delay, I’d like to move on to answering the asked questions.

1. When did you embark on the journey of writing?

My father passed away on my 9th birthday. In order to deal with the trauma I began writing about my feelings. Poetry was my outlet. Later I would journal. It just became part of me and how I deal with life’s stresses.

2.  If you could live in and write about any era or planet, which would it be?

It would have to be the era of the Texas fight for her independence from Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna of Mexico. I would write it from the point of view of my ancestors who were there, particularly my third great-grandfather, David Bullock who fought under General Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto which ended the war and claimed independence from Mexico while avenging the deaths of all who were massacred at the Alamo.

3. What inspires your art?  

Life.

4. If you could be immortalized as a painting or a poetry, what would you choose and why?

Poetry. My explanation is in answer #1. That’s how I started writing.

5. Is there  is a movie you could watch over and over again? If so, which?

Every Christmas I watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart. I’ve also habitually watched “The Wizard of Oz,” and “The Princess Bride” with grandchildren. For spiritual inspiration I also watch the “Son of God” on occasion.

6. If you could meet any author or artist, who would it be?

Samuel Clemens a.k.a Mark Twain. I know in politically correct circles my choice may be frowned upon. Yet, to me he is the master of story telling through his command of dialogue. I find his work fascinating and again it is that era which I love. He his lifespan was 1835-1910. I’m drawn to  19th century literature.

7. Have you ever been through the ‘Writer’s block’? If so, how did you come out of it?

I have started writing and found that the subject just did not develop the way I wanted it to, so I’ve put it on the shelf for another day, and I’ve started following another idea for a story or poem which presents itself in my mind more fluidly and completely. I jot down things I want to write about when I think of them. Sooner or later they come to fruition. Inspiration is everywhere in life and literature.

8, Which one book would you recommend everybody to read?

Although it is one of the most misunderstood and misused books, The Bible is a unified literary work in its final finished form from Genesis through Revelation. It is a linear narrative which is the only literary work which claims to be the word of God. It must be read on its terms and not ours. We cannot impose our own cultural values on the bible. The main character is God. The conflict is sin (which we all struggle with). And the theme is redemption.

9. If you could go anywhere and do anything, where would you go and why?

I’d like to go on an African Safari. I’d also like to take a tour of the Holy Land.

10. Who is your favorite poet/poetess?

Robert Frost

11. How has the blogging experience been for you so far?

It has been a wonderful experience since I started last summer. I have enjoyed following so many others. I tend to reblog when I run across a post that I find exceptional or that I find interesting. I love to follow cooking, photography, poetry, country life, religion and philosophy, science, painting, and many other subjects.
