Super Blue Blood Moon

Somewhere in this world
There must be trees
Of golden yellow
And scarlet ribbons

Somewhere in this world
There must be grass
In hues of pink
Spread upon a lawn

Somewhere in this world
There must be roads
Of blue velvet
Never driven on

I’ve heard of purple majesty
Above the fruited plain
If I had ever seen them
I’d remember wouldn’t I

I’ve seen a super full moon
They called the blood moon
But never a super blue blood moon
But soon I will watch one rise

I’ve heard the rolling thunder
Of a crashing space shuttle
A Saturday morning disaster
Heroes lost among debris

I’ve caught a bay fish
A fish I could not name
Not as ugly as a sheep head
But ugly (too ugly) to eat

I stop for turtles crossing
Roads and help them along
They do not know human cruelty
So it’s the decent thing to do

Somewhere in this world
There must be trees
Of golden yellow
And scarlet ribbons

Somewhere in this world
There must be grass
in hues of pink
spread upon a lawn

Somewhere in this world
There must be roads
Of blue velvet
Never driven on

I’ve heard of purple majesty
Above the fruited plain
If I had ever seen them
I’d remember wouldn’t I

I’ve seen a super full moon
They called the blood moon
But never a super blue blood moon
But soon I will watch one rise
