Oh, to have lived when your voice calmed the sea!
Could I have breathed if my eyes met yours?
My gross iniquities cause me to shrink at the thought.
Yet, my soul thirsts; my spirit hungers to walk with them,
as they walked with you, on the shores of Galilee.
Or upon the dusty road to Jerusalem.
With two fish and five loaves you fed five thousand.
I would be filled to simply be in your presence.
Just a moment in time would last me forever and ever.
Could I touch the hem of your garment and be healed
of the scars from this world?
Could I learn to love the way you love, Lord?
Oh, I pray that I could.
