Twenty thousand lights
Shone brightly that night
As their voices were singing
Through the air they were ringing
For love of God and country.
“God bless America
Land that I love
Stand beside her
And guide her
Through the night
With the light from above.”
Then the one without a soul
Who had paid the devil’s toll
Sprayed the crowd with doom
‘Ere slithering into his own tomb
A coward’s death to state it bluntly.
Still that isn’t quite the end
As the greatest love for friend
Crowned certain heads with glory
As they told the greater story
America shines brightly once more.
